Their new album ‘Inside’ is a heady mix of synth-pop bangers, meditational mantras, woozy drones and acid techno. It's incredibly disappointing, particularly considering the album itself is in my opinion, one of the greatest of the last few decades.Having found a new label home with Better Noise Music, their seventh full-length album, ‘See What’s On The Inside‘, showcases the group’s renewed creative energy on what is their most cohesive and self-assured record to date. Sooo this is really weird and I’ve never had this happen but I found it at target last week and finally got around to opening it. Usually when I'm hearing about 'must listen to' music - the legends, the classics, the king of this, the queen of that - it's usually from an older generation.

A closer inspection reveals quite a lot of dimples in the vinyl, which might indicate a subpar pressing. Free Love and their music are a conscious study in duality: thumping live tracks and meditational mantras, pop songs and esoteric experiments, acoustic and electronic instrumentation, lyrics in French and English, the Masculine and the Feminine, all side-by-side. Established in 2008 and with six previous albums and over 1 billion streams and views under their belt, Asking Alexandria are ready to start the next chapter in their career.
