In 1983, the French couple Josiane and Joseph Pividal created the Lolita Lempicka fashion house, producing clothing, jewellery, and exquisite perfumes. I’d describe it as a day perfume for a good girl that wears ideally ironed white blouse with designers skirt and expensive shoes. The Orris root, Vetiver and yet again the sparkling Ivy transported us to a deserted moonlit forest. That being said, if I were gifted a bottle of this, I would probably keep it and use it up eventually. It does feel like something a fairytale princess would wear, it's youthful, pretty and not something to overwhelm.

She chose her pseudonym out of admiration for the novel, “Lolita”, by Vladimir Nabokov, and the painter Tamara de Lempicka. when i spray it on it's all salty liquorice and cherry for a couple of minutes, then the liquorice recedes and lets a dry, rustling ivy leaf note come to the forefront. While LPRN is very linear cherry throughout, LL changes into a smoothie of cherry, violets, and licorice.As an elder millennial, it's very nostalgic for me because it was the absolute rage in the 2006-2008 era. Top notes are Star Anise, Violet and Ivy; middle notes are Licorice, Cherry, Iris, Orris Root and Amaryllis; base notes are Vanilla, Praline, Tonka Bean, White Musk and Vetiver. Lolita Lempicka (real name Josiane Maryse Pividal in Bordeaux, 1954) is a French fashion designer and perfumer. I think this would smell best in cooler whether but honestly I can see this being a year round scent for those who like it. Lolita Lempicka is like a beautiful nymph who appears before male travelers in the woods, then darts away laughing, tempting them off the path.

Not sure how star anise smells but something in this reminds me of amaretto almost like if there's some almond in this. This is a hell of a lot better than all of these "skin scent", molecule, ambroxan, oud, saffron, leather bombs, etc.when i'd try to revisit this scent, the scent memory of 2020 was so strong i never wanted to wear it (who wants to be reminded of 2020 lol).

I had the original Lolita Lempicka when I was very young (a tiny lilac apple with gold stem, gifted by my mother). So this little guy has been one I've had my eye on for a LONG time because it sounded like a dream come true for me. This is by far my favorite perfume bottle --from the moment I saw it at Saks 5th Avenue NYC until today. We are proud to be celebrating the 120th anniversary This version is more liquorice forward, more earthy, but there's still that sweet fruity cherry note that I love.

I've read that LL might have been reformulated since its release, so maybe it's just a new formula that has become a licorice bomb, or maybe I'm super sensitive to the licorice, but I'm disappointed that I have trouble smelling the violet and the iris.
